According to new reports, two of the more popular smartphone operating systems - the iOS and the Android - may soon allow Xbox Live integration to permit gamers access to their games on Android and Apple smartphones and tablets.

Microsoft Corp. recently listed new job postings, suggesting the company may be bringing the gaming world to other mobile platforms. Although the company has already released a My Xbox Live app for iOS, it still lacks gaming support.

The Xbox LIVE Mobile team is looking for a passionate and experienced developer to join us brining Xbox LIVE entertainment experiences to various mobile platforms. As the team inside IEB (Interactive Entertainment Business) dedicated to mobile experiences, we work closely with console software team and Xbox LIVE services team to bring the latest and greatest gaming and entertainment experience to mobile platforms including Windows Phone, iOS and other mobile platforms, according to the job posting.

If these reports are true, gamers could have access to an Xbox Live Arcade, which will keep console-quality games synced across multiple platforms. This would also make Android and iOS-based smartphones and tablets an attractive proposition for gamers... not to mention the business it could generate for both Microsoft and Android and iOS-based devices.

Combining Xbox LIVE experiences together with mobile devices has enabled many new opportunities and interesting user scenarios such as location based gaming and social networking, avatar with presence, etc, the post further reads.

Although no timeframe has been stated for the Xbox Live-iOS, Android integration as yet, it is believed gamers will soon be hooked on to their smartphones and tablets, courtesy Microsoft, according to a Geek report.
