Xbox One Backward Compatibility Games List: ‘Dead Space 2 And 3’ And More Now Xbox One-Playable
“Dead Space 2 and 3” are now backward-compatible, so now gamers can play them on the Xbox One. This option is available to both digital and disc versions. Also, a couple more games finally made it to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program.
On Thursday, Xbox Live programmer Larry Hryb dropped the good news that the two other installments in the “Dead Space” trilogy are henceforth playable on Xbox One. Hryb announced it via his Major Nelson website saying the two “Dead Space” titles are now part of the 350+ Xbox One Backward Compatibility library.
The two Xbox 360 games were previously only available on disc, but today’s announcement is coupled with another good news about the games being digitally available via the Xbox Games Store. For players who still have their discs, however, they can simply pop them into Microsoft’s newer gaming machine.
“Dead Space 2” follows engineer Isaac Clarke’s nightmarish adventure after waking from a coma. This installment is set in a massive space city called The Sprawl, and the protagonist has a lot of things to deal with to survive a gruesome onslaught. On the other hand, Clarke finds himself journeying across space to find the leading cause behind the Necromorph outbreak in “Dead Space 3.” After crash-landing in the frozen planet of Tau Volantis, his survival skills are once again tested.
Prior to announcing the arrival of “Dead Space 2 and 3” on the Backward Compatibility program, Hryb also broke the news that Cabela’s branded games “Dangerous Hunts,” “Alaskan Adventures,” “Hunting Expeditions” and “Survival: Shadows of Katmai” are also playable on Xbox One from today onwards. For players who already own these titles digitally, they can play the games on the Xbox One by heading to the Read to Download list of the My Games and Apps section. Another way is to pick them up via the Xbox Store. Of course, there is also the option of buying physical discs.
According to GameSpot, the addition of the aforesaid titles to the program comes after “Timeshift,” “Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” “Contra” and “RoboBlitz” were added to the library. Per usual, Hryb assured fans that more games are being added to the program regularly. The complete list of Xbox One backward-compatible titles can be viewed here.
