Xbox One Release Date: Has Microsoft Leaked The Xbox One Release Date In A 'Call of Duty: Ghosts' Ad? [PHOTOS]
While we know for sure that the Xbox One will be released this coming November, what we don't have is an exact release date. However, a "Call of Duty: Ghosts" ad may have let the Xbox One official release date slip. Check out the photos below.
The photos, which were originally spotted by OXM, were taken from the offical Xbox One site. Notice how the first image indicates the official "Call of Duty: Ghosts" November 5 release date while only mentioning the Xbox One, including the Xbox One logo and displaying the Xbox One version of the "Call of Duty: Ghosts" box art. "Call of Duty: Ghosts" is being released for multiple platforms, including the Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC. So why was the Xbox One singled out in the first image? Hmmmm.....
After some time, the site was updated. The content found in the first image was edited to explicitly specify that the November 5th "Call of Duty: Ghosts release date applied only to the Xbox 360, not the Xbox One. "Coming Soon!" was plastered about the Xbox One version of the "Call of Duty: Ghosts" box art.
So was this a slip up a true Xbox One release date leak? Microsoft hasn't released any official statements, but considering that November 5th is weeks away from Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year, we wouldn't be surprised if November 5th was in fact the Xbox One's official release date. Also, if this wasn't an issue, why was the website edited? We say, if it's not an issue, don't address it. As the old saying goes: where there is smoke, there is fire.
The PS4 is also slated to be released this coming holiday season, likely before Black Friday.
Do you think the above photos are an Xbox One release date leak? Why or why not? When do you think the Xbox One will be released and why? Have you pre-ordered the Xbox One? Why or why not? If so, what Xbox One games are you looking forward to playing most? Sound off in the comments below.
