It’s quickly becoming apparent that the gap between the best and worst teams in the 2020 XFL season might be a sizable one. Three of the four games in Week 3 feature a road team favored by more than a field goal. The only contest that has a home favorite includes a point spread that’s approaching double digits.

The St. Louis BattleHawks (-400) are the biggest favorites on the upcoming schedule, laying nine points against the visiting New York Guardians (+320). Both teams are 1-1, but New York just suffered the worst loss of the young season. The Guardians were shut out by the DC Defenders 27-0 in Week 2.

The game in St. Louis features the lowest betting total of Week 3.

DC (-340) is the biggest Week 3 road favorite, laying eight points against the Los Angeles Wildcats (+280) in Sunday’s late game. Defenders quarterback Cardale Jones leads the league with 511 passing yards. The Wildcats have surrendered a league-high 62 points.

In a second matchup between an undefeated team and a winless team, the Houston Roughnecks (-240) are road favorites against the Tampa Bay Vipers (-200). Roughnecks quarterback P.J. Walker is probably the very early XFL MVP with seven touchdown passes. The Vipers haven’t scored a single offensive touchdown yet.

The contest in Tampa Bay features the week’s highest betting total.

The Dallas Renegades (-190) are the week’s smallest favorites in their road matchup with the Seattle Dragons (-170). Renegade quarterback Landry Jones threw two interceptions in his XFL debut last week. Seattle linebacker Steven Johnson is the league’s leading tackler.
