It might feel like the XFL season has just started, but time is running out for some teams to turn things around. Week 5 represents the midway point, making for some key games on Saturday and Sunday.

If the Seattle Dragons don’t pull off the biggest upset of the season, their hopes of competing in the division will be all but gone. Seattle is getting 13 points in its road game against the Houston Roughnecks, marking the largest XFL point spread in 2020.

Houston is the league’s only undefeated team. The Roughnecks are three games ahead of the Dragons in the XFL West.

The loser in Sunday’s game between the Tampa Bay Vipers and Los Angeles Wildcats will fall to 1-4 and become an unlikely playoff contender. Tampa Bay is trending in the right direction after a one-score loss to Houston and a shutout victory in Week 4. Los Angeles is a slight home favorite after scoring just 14 points in its most recent loss.

DC has been outscored 64-9 in the last two weeks by Tampa Bay and Los Angeles. Despite their recent skid, the Defenders can move into first place in the XFL East by defeating the St. Louis BattleHawks. St. Louis is favored by a field goal in DC, where the Defenders are 2-0 with a plus-39 point differential.

The BattleHawks are the only team with a 3-1 record.

St. Louis has defeated both the New York Guardians and Dallas Renegades, who will meet Saturday afternoon. Dallas is a heavy favorite, even though both teams are 2-2 and the Renegades just lost starting quarterback Landry Jones to a knee injury.

The Renegades only scored nine points in Week 1 when Jones didn’t play. The game in Dallas has the schedule’s lowest over/under.
