The New York Yankees have been the most active team ahead of Tuesday’s 2018 MLB trade deadline, and the team might not be done dealing just yet. General manager Brian Cashman is still working to improve the roster, and the organization is expected to make at least one more move before 4 p.m. EDT.

With Aaron Judge on the disabled list, the Yankees are still trying to add an outfielder. New York has also been linked to starters and relievers that are on the block, even though they’ve upgraded both parts of the team in recent days.

New York traded for reliever Zach Britton and starter J.A. Happ last week. They acquired starting pitcher Lance Lynn from the Minnesota Twins, though they did send reliever Adam Warren to the Seattle Mariners.

Who could the Yankees trade for within the next few hours? Here are three players that could be in pinstripes when the deadline is over:

Curtis Granderson

The Toronto Blue Jays continue to unload veterans, and it only makes sense to trade a 37-year-old that will be a free agent in the offseason. Granderson might be the outfielder that makes the most sense to go to the Yankees because he likely wouldn’t cost the team much and has already proven he can perform in New York. The veteran hit 115 home runs with the Yankees from 2010-2013 and proved to be a reliable power hitter for the Mets over the next three and a half years.

Granderson is hitting .234/.337./.422 in 87 games with Toronto this season.

Cameron Maybin

The Yankees have reportedly expressed interested in Jose Bautista in pursuit of a right-handed batter, according to Fancred’s Jon Heyman, though a deal with the Mets is extremely unlikely. Acquiring Maybin might be the team’s next best option, though the outfielder is more known for being a good defender. It was only two years ago that Maybin posted a .315 batting average for the Detroit Tigers, and he’s hitting .309/.427/.456 in July.

Maybin is hitting .251/.338/.342 in 99 games with the Miami Marlins.

Chris Archer

This one might be somewhat of a long shot, but it can’t be ruled out until the deadline passes. The Tampa Bay Rays have spoken with multiple teams about dealing Archer, including the Yankees, and there’s a sense that Tampa Bay might actually pull the trigger on a trade. New York hasn’t given up any of their top prospects yet, and they might have the best chance of pulling off a deal. MLB.com’s Jon Morosi has reported that the San Diego Padres’ pursuit of Archer has “lost momentum” and San Diego was once considered the favorite to acquire the starter.

Archer is just 3-5 with a 4.31 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP this season. He’s got a 3.69 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP for his career and is signed to a team-friendly contract through the 2021 season.
