'Yellowjackets' Season 2: Here's Everything You Need To Know
"Yellowjackets" is coming back! Showtime network has announced the second season of the mystery thriller will release in March next year.
A teaser, shared on Twitter Wednesday, shows blood dripping from something. Another frame features snowfall in a jungle. A person can be seen making a man-like figure on a glass and it transitions into a bleeding sign on a tree.
The team behind the psychological/horror drama revealed Season 2 will release on March 24. "You won't be hungry much longer. March 24, 2023," they wrote in a post.
The first season of "Yellowjackets" was about four teenage girls who survived in a brutal wilderness for 19 months after a plane crash in 1996. The show also focused on their adult life, where they got blackmailed for what happened during their survival journey.
Season 1 was dropped in November last year and it had 10 episodes. It has received many accolades, including seven Emmy award nominations.
The filming of Season 2 began in August in Vancouver, Canada. The team has not yet announced how many episodes it will have.
All four actresses - Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis and Tawny Cypress - will reprise their roles in the upcoming season. Moreover, the teen stars - Sophie Nélisse, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher and Jasmin Savoy Brown - who played their younger versions will also reprise their characters.
Ricci, who played Misty in the series, opened up about the upcoming season and revealed how the first couple of scripts had made the entire cast "gasp." She, however, did not get into the details.
"I can't really get too much into detail, but I will say the first couple scripts had the entire cast gasping," Ricci told ET last month. "So, it's even wilder. More crazy, more shocking and really compelling and fun."
Actor Elijah Wood will make a guest appearance in the second season. Ricci said she had a lot of scenes with Wood and that it was "great" working with him.
