Yolanda Foster-David Foster Divorce: ‘Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ Star’s ‘Obsession With Fame' Contributed To David Split, Say Sources

Yolanda Foster and David Foster were married for four years before they announced their separation on Dec. 1. The reason behind the split is still unclear although a source recently revealed that Yolanda’s “obsession with fame” contributed to the former couple’s separation.

A source close to the family told People magazine that one of the reasons why the former Hollywood couple’s marriage broke apart was due to Yolanda’s quest to find fame on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” show. A source also revealed that the music producer David only appeared on the show to support Yolanda and make her happy.

The source said to People magazine, "Yolanda's obsession with fame for her and her children is the cause of the split. David didn't want to be part of the show, but he knew how important it was to her. He wanted to make her happy.”

An insider also told Us Weekly magazine that David pushed to announce their separation, despite Yolanda wanting them to stay together and work on their marriage. The source mentioned to Us Weekly, “It didn’t make sense to stay together… [the union] wasn’t a marriage.”

However, an insider close to the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star was supportive of David and slammed speculations that he didn’t want to be on the show or that he wasn’t willing to work on the relationship. The source told People magazine that the music producer “enjoyed being on the show” and that he gained “a whole new set of fans” through the Bravo series.

"What's so hurtful now is that there are these stories perpetuating that he's a horrible guy, who's left her out to dry," the source mentioned to People, "David would have probably worked on the marriage. He's 66 and he doesn't want to be alone and on his fourth divorce."

Although previous reports indicated that David’s busy schedule and Yolanda’s battle with Lyme disease took a strain on the former couple’s relationship. The TV personality was diagnosed with the disease in 2012, a year after she and David got married.

Yolanda and David’s relationship spanned a total of nine years. The two were married for four years before their separation.
