Yorba Linda Homicide Suspect Arrested, Identified
The Yorba Linda homicide suspect has been arrested and identified.
Eder Giovanni Herrera, 24, was arrested Wednesday morning at a traffic stop. He is suspected of killing a man and a woman. Their bodies were found in Herrera's residence, The Orange County Register reported.
The man and woman had been renting the residence for approximately one year, the OC Register reported.
Sergeant Jim Griffin of the Brea Police Department, which provides police services to Yorba Linda, said police responded to an unknown caller who reported a loud banging in Herrera's house Tuesday night. Police noticed a large pool of blood upon arrival, Griffin said in an audio clip posted on the Los Angeles Times' Web site.
The crime scene is located at 4251 Trix Circle, the LA Times reported.
Yorba Linda is a suburb in northern California.
According to crime statistics of Brea's police department, Yorba Linda has had five criminal homicides since 2006, not including this one. There were four criminal homicides in 2008 and one in 2009.
The police department lists Larceny- Theft as the most frequent crime in the suburb.
