You Can No Longer Purchase 'GTA IV' On Steam For Some Unknown Reason

Several sites reported earlier today that “Grand Theft Auto IV” is no longer available for purchase on Valve’s video game digital distribution service Steam. Rockstar Games’ 2008 action-adventure title is still on the store, but there is no longer an option to buy it. This is applicable in both the original game and the Complete Edition, but the standalone DLC collection episode from Liberty City is still available on Steam.

It is currently unclear why this happened to the popular game “Grand Theft Auto IV.” Rockstar Games, at the time of this publishing, has not commented about the report, and so far, there is no reason stated for the sudden delisting of the game on Steam. It is not unusual for a “Grand Theft Auto” game to get delisted.

Most of the time, delisting happens because of music licensing lapses, but following a brief period of being delisted, either the music is removed from the game, or the licenses are renewed, and then the listing is available again. Hopeful fans are speculating that Rockstar Games is probably working in a remaster or a remake of the game, but it seems unlikely to happen for several reasons.

Rockstar Games could just announce the remaster of “Grand Theft Auto IV” before even pulling the game from Steam. For gamers who have “Grand Theft Auto IV” in their library, they can still download the game. The digital versions of the game are still available on PlayStation and Xbox Stores, the Steam version of the game is technically available on sites like Humble, according to PCGamesN.
