You Can Now Avoid Those Long Shake Shack Lines With New iOS App
If you avoided Shake Shack because of the long lines, you can now avoid them and order those burgers and shakes through your iOS device.
Shake Shack’s mobile app is now taking orders in select locations across the U.S., which means customers can order, customize and pay for their fast food beforehand.
Through the app, customers can find and choose the location and time they want to pick up their order. Once the order is ready, the app notifies the customer with a text. Then burger lovers can get into one of the “shacks” to pick up their food without having to worry about any lines.
With the app, customers can also keep track of food allergies and access nutritional information. Shake Shack fans can also see the company’s events and promos.
But there’s a catch, customers can only order 4 items per category (i.e. a maximum of four burgers or four hot dogs).
Customers were not happy about that.
“I was so excited to use this app to pre-order dinner for my family of 6. Unfortunately, the app won't let you order more than four items from each category. I needed 5 burgers, but the app would not let me add the 5th burger to my order!!! What a disappointment. Now I have to call my order in...” one review said.
But the company says the four item limit allows Shake Shack locations to serve as many people as possible.
The app requires iOS 9.0 or later and is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. An Android version of the app is in development, the company said. The company revealed in October that it was testing its iOS app.
“The Shack App marks a new era for Shake Shack. In creating our first-ever app, we took great care to develop a mobile ordering platform that maintains the high quality our guests have come to know and love, but now just a tap away,” said CEO Randy Garutti in October.
