You Can't Get Hamilton Tickets But Lin-Manuel Miranda's Son Did
Eleven-time Tony award-winning play Hamilton has reigned on Broadway since its 2015 premiere, and tickets for the spectacle remain difficult to come by. Except, apparently, for 3-year-old Sebastian Miranda.
Sebastian, the son of Hamilton playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda, scored arguably the best gift for his third birthday Saturday. The Hamilton mastermind took to Twitter Monday to share his son's reaction to the play, along with a sweet photo of the toddler looking quite comfortable in the spotlight.
In a Twitter thread, Lin-Manuel shared that his son's favorite moments were the Yorktown battles and his delight in one character having "two daddies."
Sebastian was only able to see act one, but Lin-Manuel assured on Twitter that he would have a chance to see act two when he's older.
The musical premiered in August 2015 and followed the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. Along with its numerous Tony Awards, Hamilton won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2016 and was the first musical to win a Billboard Music Award for Top Soundtrack and Cast Album.
Hamilton is currently in the midst of its U.S. tour, with most tickets going for $1,000 - making the play the most expensive one on Broadway.
