‘You Light Up My Christmas’ Lifetime Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis
The holiday season is getting a little bit brighter with the premiere of the newest Lifetime Christmas movie, “You Light Up My Christmas,” starring Kim Fields.
Fields has been working in holiday movies for a while and even had a supporting role in 2017’s Tatyana Ali led-flick, “Wrapped Up in Christmas” for Lifetime. After starring in “Merry Wishmas” for TV One in 2018, she is now making her return to Lifetime for her first leading role there. Of course, fans of the actress likely also remember her time as Tootie on “The Facts of Life” and Regine on “Living Single.”
So what will happen in her first holiday film where she’s a lead? According to a synopsis for the film, a lot of Christmas cheer, in the form of lights and of course, love.
“Emma (Fields) returns to her hometown built around her family’s pioneer Christmas Light Factory two weeks before Christmas,” the synopsis reads.
Unfortunately for Emma, she comes home to a town she doesn’t recognize, because the lights that have always been keeping the holiday season aglow aren’t lit—and it will be up to her (and an old flame) to not only make things glow again but bring another form of Christmas joy and spirit to her life.
“However, upon Emma’s return, she discovers the lights have gone dim in the once festive town, prompting her to reconnect with an old flame to set their hearts and the town ablaze with light again,” the synopsis states.
Perhaps as an extra treat for friends though, Fields isn’t the only recognizable face in the film. Her former “Facts of Life” co-stars, Lisa Whelchel and Mindy Cohn (Blair and Natalie respectively), are also in the film, as Aurora and Rose. Both have also been in holiday movies as well before, with Whelchel having roles in “Snowcapped Christmas” in 2016 and “A Madea Christmas” in 2013, while Kohn starred in “A Cinderella Christmas” and “Holiday Road Trip” in those same years.
“You Light Up My Christmas” airs Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
