You Might Soon Be Able To Get Samsung Galaxy S8's Dual Audio Feature On Any Android Phone
The Samsung Galaxy S8 was launched in the U.S. on March 29 and comes with many high-end features. But, for consumers who are fond of music and use their phone as a playback device, the phone’s dual-audio feature is what stands out.
The Galaxy S8 lets users connect to multiple Bluetooth speakers at once. If a user owns more than one Bluetooth speaker, they will be simply able to connect them to the smartphone at the same time. This means they could easily create a surround sound system, without investing in an expensive system like Sonos.

But what if you don’t own a Galaxy S8, yet want to access the feature?
Tempow, a French startup has made it possible. The company has created a new Bluetooth protocol, which will make connecting to multiple Bluetooth devices at one time using any Android phone possible. It does so by replacing the Bluetooth driver on your phone. The company claims that their technology will work on any device with Bluetooth, including laptop and TV’s, which makes the feature pretty nifty, if you have multiple Bluetooth speakers. You might not only be able to create a surround sound speaker system for your home, but also create a mini home theatre by connecting your speakers with your TV.
Tempow calls the technology its universal connected sound system. It also claims that its tech will not affect your device’s battery and will work within the normal Bluetooth range.
The company has already beta-tested the technology by providing the Tempow app to testers.
One of its beta-testers, Carlos Diaz called it a “Sonos-Killer”, while another user, Adrian Montcoudiol, said that the device could help people organize a bring-your-own-speaker party.
One tweet posted on Tempow’s Twitter account @WeareTempow, states that an Android user was able to connect to six Apple AirPods at once using the technology. This means that the app, when it is available for public could be great help for Apple users, if they happen to own more than one pair of AirPods.
TechCrunch stated in an article published Sunday that the technology might be licensed to smartphone manufacturers in the future.

It is not impossible to play audio on multiple devices currently, but the technology uses Wi-Fi and other protocols. Doing it via Bluetooth simplifies functionality and makes the function affordable for users as Wi-Fi compatible speakers retail at an expensive price. It also reduces chances of lags, which can be faced while connecting to Wi-Fi.
Tempow’s technology basically shows how simple smartphone features can be changed and actually help users create a customizable audio environment using regular devices such as Bluetooth speakers.
