'Young And The Restless' Spoilers: Chelsea Makes A Surprising Move
It was a big surprise for Nick when he found a stash of $250,000 in a vent in Chelsea's bathroom. Now that he has had the money checked out and knows its legitimate, Chelsea may wind up making an unexpected move with the funds on the Wednesday, Jan. 31 episode of 'The Young and the Restless."
Nick (Joshua Morrow) found the cash while renovating the bathroom on the CBS soap, and quickly deduced that it was money Adam had stashed there before he died. Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) didn't say differently, though she did defend her late husband's name when Nick assumed it was stolen. However, he sent it to the police to track the serial numbers on the bills, and when they came back clean, he told Chelsea that the money was hers since she had been Adam's next of kin.
She wound up telling Nick she planned to put it away in the bank, allowing it to be used later for both Connor and Christian's futures, and that she would also donate some of it to the project he has started with his mother, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), to provide affordable housing to the homeless in Genoa City. Nick loved the idea and seemed to then drop all concerns about the cash.
However, Chelsea will not instead do something else very different with the money, and it will be something that, if the truth gets out, could cause some concerns about whether or not she's up to something.
After Nick leaves the house, Chelsea will quickly gather up all of the stacks of cash and take them with her before she too exits—and makes her way to the place where Adam's ashes are stored instead.
There, she will get into his final resting place by removing the plaque marker and will quickly stick the cash in there before closing it up again and leaving.
Now, if Nick learns where the money has since gone to, he will certainly begin to question what Chelsea is clearly hiding from him, and it could be the very thing that winds up ending their relationship for good.
"The Young and the Restless" airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
