'Young And The Restless' Spoilers: How Far Will Phyllis Go For Revenge?
She has been suspicious that her new son-in-law isn’t as committed to his marriage as he claims to be, especially since the reveal that he and Summer married so Lola could get her liver transplant. Now, determined to protect Summer from devastating heartbreak, Phyllis will set a plan in motion to expose Kyle on the Tuesday, April 9 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”
Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) has been out for revenge against the Abbott men ever since she was ousted as Jabot’s CEO, and since she can’t quite retaliate against Jack (Peter Bergman) or Billy (Jason Thompson) just yet, she is focusing her attention on Kyle (Michael Mealor). In addition to wanting revenge, she is also concerned about his marriage to Summer (Hunter King) on the CBS soap, which she now knows came as a result of a deal the two struck. She fears that Summer, who does love Kyle, is headed for heartbreak because Kyle only married her to guarantee that Lola (Sasha Caille) would get the liver transplant she needed. Now, she’s waiting to see when he will likely leave her daughter behind and devastated and may decide she will keep that from happening.
While she can’t force Kyle to stay in his marriage, she can manipulate things to try and force him to make a mistake—which will give her and Summer the edge.
“Phyllis works to protect her daughter,” spoilers reveal.
Manipulating a situation to work in her favor is something Phyllis does know how to do very well, so she will likely work her magic to try and set something up, though she is also on a time crunch. Not only is Summer falling in love with Kyle more every day, but she’s been providing helpful information to the Abbotts as they try to rebuild Jabot, and she could choose to walk away from her job at Newman if she thinks she’s an asset there and will be able to work with her husband.
However she gets the manipulation to work in her favor though, Phyllis already has something up her sleeve. A preview clip for the week's episodes (see above) shows her speaking on a phone about potentially blackmailing the Abbotts and documenting their every move, and since Kyle is also seen in that clip potentially sleeping with Lola, she is likely going to catch him in the act—getting the revenge she craves, even if it will break her daughter’s heart.
“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
