Her condition has continued to deteriorate over time and the situation has become too much for them to realistically handle. Now, knowing there is nothing else they can do for her that will help, the Abbotts will make a decision about what is best for Dina’s future on the Tuesday, May 28 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Since Dina (Marla Adams) came to live at the Abbott mansion with Jack (Peter Bergman) and Traci (Beth Maitland), it has become increasingly more obvious that her battle with Alzheimer’s is getting worse on the CBS soap, and she’s starting to become more of a danger to herself and potentially to others. Not only has she managed to wander off the estate and make it all the way to Jabot, but she can’t remember who anyone is and keeps confusing Jack for her late husband John, Kyle (Michael Mealor) for a young Jack) and Traci as a maid. After another incident where she couldn’t remember where the bathroom was and even refused to believe the mansion was her house, it became clear to the siblings that she needed more advanced care than they could give her.

Now, after contacting Ashley (Eileen Davidson) to also get her help when it comes to their mother’s future, the family will face their most difficult challenge yet.

“Ashley returns home to visit Dina,” spoilers reveal.

However, Dina had previously overheard Traci and Jack’s conversation and plans to make her live in a facility, and if she was lucid at that moment, then it could mean trouble for everyone as they try to do what they feel is best for her. If she feels like she’s being cast aside to be forgotten, or like they’re all attacking her, then it could mean that she isn’t going to go without a fight.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
