YouTube’s Shaytards Family Returns With Short Instagram Videos, Group Photo
The Shaytards family has not returned to YouTube since patriarch Shay Carl Butler’s leave from the web earlier this year due to personal issues, but they did make a big social media comeback this week.
In honor of Halloween, Shay posted a picture of his brood to Instagram in their costumes, much to the delight of their longtime fans. In the days prior to the Oct. 31 celebration, the father of five also posted a few short and candid videos of his family to his official account.
The group shoot, which included a simple “Happy Halloween” caption, shows Shay and his wife, Colette Butler, rocking superhero costumes with her dressed as Wonder Woman and him a Batman. Their youngest sons Daxton and Brock also got in on the fun by wearing a Superman and black and white body suite.
Their three older children, Gavin, Avia and Emmi, dressed as as a chicken, Stitch and a princess, respectively.
Since the image was posted it has attained over 92K likes and numerous comments. “Wow. How they have all changed!” reads one fan post. “Happy family... all that counts,” said another commenter. “Love seeing these faces again! We’ve missed your family so much. Sending all the love and good vibes your way, Shaytard crew!” reads another post.
In the comments, some viewers requested the family return to the video-sharing site that brought them to fame after eight months of not posting content. At this time, however, it doesn’t appear the Butler brood has responded to the fan requests.
While the family photo appears to have surprised fans of the family’s former vlogs, the post wasn’t Shays first since disappearing from the internet in February. Late last month, Shay posted a video of his family singing Happy Birthday to Daxton. He also shared additional clips of daughters Emmi and Avia singing while Colette played guitar and another clip of Colette and Avia laughing together.
The Butler family’s big Instagram comeback comes a few weeks after Colette made her return to her main YouTube channel, Katilette, and her shared channel, The Mom’s View. In her first The Moms’ View video in several months, Colette told the camera she considered the past year “a gift.”
“This has been a crazy year for me. It’s been a gift, honestly,” she said alongside her co-stars, sister-in-laws Kayli Butler and Carlie Wood.
“The best way to describe it is I’m awake and I know who I am and I’m so excited… I’m thinking, ‘All this stuff that I’m going through I’m learning I’m going to be able to use this to help somebody, to help you guys,’” she added. “For the first time in a really long time I feel like that fire underneath me.”
