Zac Efron Strikes Out On Tinder Following Breakup With Girlfriend Model Sami Miro
Zac Efron is reportedly not having any luck finding dates on Tinder following his breakup with girlfriend of almost two years, Sami Miro.
In an interview with U.K.’s the Times, the "High School Musical" star admitted to using dating apps but said they did not work for him as people refused to believe that it was really him. “Amazingly, when I signed up for Tinder, nobody swiped me!” he claimed. “They thought [my profile] was fake.”
Efron, 28, and model Sami Miro broke up in April following which the actor threw himself into his work while promoting his new project Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, a source told People magazine.
However, the source added, “[He] doesn’t do much interacting with costars except for the girls.”
Discussing his struggle to date as an actor, Efron said, “Dating is something I’ll never be able to do.”
“As in the dictionary definition of dating, because one way or another I’ve impacted that person’s life and they’ll soon realize it. A date has to be very long to dispel whatever people think about me,” the actor told the Times.
In the past, Efron has also dated his "High School Musical" co-star Vanessa Hudgens, from 2006 to 2010.
During the interview, Efron also talked about his "Baywatch" costar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, saying he would make a great pick for president: “He wants to make an impact beyond acting. He could run for president.”
“F**k it, he’d be better than anyone at this point,” the actor said, ahead of the presidential elections.
A number of other celebrities have opened up about using online dating sites. Yahoo reported that previously, Khloé Kardashian, Ronda Rousey, Andy Cohen, Eric Stonestreet, and Ryan Lochte have all admitted to using dating apps.
