Zack Snyder is set to start the reshoots for his extended version of “The Justice League” for the upcoming HBO Max series in October. The reshoots will make the Snyder cut into a four-episode limited series that will be premiering on the streaming service in 2021.
The filmmaker will be looking to redo and shoot some extra scenes with Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), and Ben Affleck (Batman) next month, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The media outlet reported that Ray Fisher is expected to come back and film some scenes as Cyborg for the highly anticipated series.
The project also stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ezra Miller as The Flash.
The news comes almost two months after Fisher accused Joss Whedon of allowing a “toxic workplace” environment during the reshoots of the original film. Whedon donned the director’s hat after Snyder left the project due to personal reasons.
The film turned out to be a massive failure for Warner Bros. and as soon as it was declared a flop, social media users started to blame the “Avengers” filmmaker for all the chaos.
In June 2020, the 32-year-old actor disclosed that Whedon’s behavior was completely “unacceptable” and highly “unprofessional.” Fisher also called out Jon Berg, film producer, and Geoff Johns, comic book writer, in his tweet.
Recently, Momoa voiced his support for Fisher amid the latter’s ongoing dispute with Warner Bros. The “Game Of Thrones” actor shared a picture of Fisher in one of his Instagram Stories and wrote the hashtag #IStandWithRayFisher to show his support.
Meanwhile, the “300” helmer has already made it clear that he won’t use any footage from Whedon’s version of the project.
“I would destroy the movie. I would set it on fire before I use a single frame that I did not photograph. That is a [explicit] hard fact. I would literally blow that [explicit] thing up,” Screen Rant quoted Snyder, as saying.
The trailer for the Snyder Cut of “Justice League” was released at DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes” event and it garnered positive reviews. A plethora of social media users said that the trailer was much better than the movie that Whedon directed.
“Justice League: The Snyder Cut” is expected to be released on HBO Max next year.
