Zayn Malik is denying claims that he struck his girlfriend Gigi Hadid’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, following an incident that occurred last week.

Although there isn’t much known about what caused the altercation, sources told TMZ Yolanda claimed Malik “struck” her and is considering filing a police report against him.

On Thursday, Malik told the outlet that he did not get physical with Yolanda Hadid during an argument.

“I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details, and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private,” he said.

Prior to his statement, Malik took to Twitter to share a note addressing Hadid’s allegations.

“As you all know, I am a private person, and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter [Khai] to grow up in,” the singer wrote in the message.

“A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart. In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.”

Malik went on to reveal he hoped to resolve the dispute privately. “This was and still should be a private matter, but it seems, for now, there is divisiveness, and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press,” he wrote.

Malik and Hadid have had an off-and-on relationship since 2015. Following a year-long split, the pair got back together in 2020. Shortly after their reunion, sources began to report the model was expecting the couple’s first child.
