Zendaya Explains Mullet And Grammys Red Carpet Outfit [PHOTOS & VIDEO]

A mullet has never looked hotter. Zendaya is the queen of changing her look, and she didn’t disappoint Monday night at the Grammys. The 19-year-old singer and actress turned heads on the Los Angeles red carpet with a mullet and sleek black tuxedo from Dsquared2.

“Hey, I wanted to wear a mullet and a suit,” Zendaya said simply when asked by Tyler Oakley of CBS.com about her unique red carpet look.

“We just like to have fun,” she added. “I feel like life is too short to be defined by what other people think of you and be worried about other opinions. Just do what makes you happy. Wear what you want, do what you want, be what you want.”

One of the things Zendaya wanted to do was accent her red carpet outfit with her own makeup. The teen, who is the new face of CoverGirl, opted to create her natutral look herself. She revealed to People.com that she went for softer makeup to “balance out [her menswear] look.”
