Zendaya Turns 21, But Doesn’t Have Plans To Start Drinking Alcohol
Zendaya turned 21 on Sept. 1, but unlike others who have entered into adulthood, the former Disney child star doesn’t have any plans to start drinking alcohol.
On her website, Zendaya explained why she has decided not to start drinking. “My life is too stressful to need help with relaxing by having a cocktail. This industry is way too nuts for me to not be in control of myself and my decisions, so I just don’t want to introduce drinking! Plus, I don’t want drinking to become a vice. Why try something if you don’t need it?” she wrote.
After celebrating her birthday with some of the sweetest greetings from her fans, Zendaya shared a photo of herself all dolled up. The singer-actress’ hair is pulled into a tight bun, and she’s wearing a strapped dark-colored gown. Zendaya used the spade icon as her caption. Her millions of fans heaped praises on her look, commenting that she’s “stunning,” “gorgeous,” “cute” and a “queen.”
Meanwhile, just days before her birthday, Zendaya encouraged her fans to donate as low as $10 to Convoy of Hope to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey with their basic needs. In her video, the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” actress said that a donation of $10 could give a family of four some basic supplies that they can use for the next three days.
Other than asking her fans for help, Zendaya also gave them wonderful advice about dating and being cheated on. On her blog, Zendaya revealed that she was once cheated on, but did not reveal the identity of her ex-boyfriend. “Yes… But everybody’s different. Not all men are dogs,” she replied to one of her fans.
“You can’t categorize an entire type of person because of something that happened to you once. But I would say, follow your gut. If you feel it, it’s probably happening. If you feel like you can’t trust somebody, or you feel whatever, then you shouldn’t be in a relationship with them,” she said.
Zendaya also stressed the importance of not getting into a serious relationship at a very young age. “Because when people are young, they make bad decisions sometimes because they don’t know any better,” she explained.
