Zoe Kravitz Takes A Jab At Will Smith In New Instagram Posts
Zoe Kravitz has taken a jab at Will Smith in new Instagram posts.
The "Batman" star shared photos of her looks at the 94th Academy Awards and after-party and alluded to the "Men in Black" actor's altercation with Chris Rock in her captions.
The first photo shows Kravitz in a peach long gown, posing for the camera on the Oscars red carpet. "Here's a picture of my dress at the award show where we are apparently assaulting people on stage now," she wrote in the caption.
In a separate post, she also shared a photo of herself at the Vanity Fair after-party, writing, "And here is a picture of my dress at the party after the award show — where we are apparently screaming profanities and assaulting people on stage now."
Her captions are in reference to Will's controversial moment, in which he walked onto the ceremony stage and smacked Rock. The altercation started after Rock, who was a presenter that night, poked fun at the baldness of Jada Pinkett Smith, Will's wife.
"Jada, GI Jane 2, I can't wait to see it," Rock said, suggesting that Jada's shaved head was reminiscent of the famous film character GI Jane. Jada, who was seated in the audience, seemed visibly annoyed, rolling her eyes at the joke. Will, who was also not impressed with the remark, arose from his seat and stormed the stage, smacking Rock in front of the crowd.
After he returned to his seat, Will went on to shout at Rock, saying, "Keep my wife's name out of your f---ing mouth!"
Later that night, Will won the Best Actor Award and apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees in his speech. Though he did not address Rock during the show, he issued a public apology to the comedian Monday afternoon, expressing his remorse over his behavior.
"I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris," part of his statement read. "I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."
