Zoe Saldana Reveals Bisexuality: 'I May End Up With a Woman,' Actress Says
Actress Zoe Saldana stripped down for Allure’s June issue, revealing more than just her bare stomach, the “Star Trek” actress admitting her androgynous tendencies and her beliefs on bisexuality.
The 34-year-old actress, who had been linked to some of Hollywood’s leading men, such as this year’s Academy Award-nominated “Silver Linings Playboy” star, Bradley Cooper, said she is open to the idea of settling down with another woman, US Weekly reports.
“[I might] end up with a woman raising my children. That’s how androgynous I am,” said Saldana, who said being involved in a same-sex relationship in the future is a possibility for her.
“If I have something good in front of me, it doesn’t matter if it’s a person or a pair of shoes. I’m not going to test something else. It’s insecure and immature,” she said. “It’s OK to say, ‘This is what I want’ and go after it, and, if it doesn’t happen, it’s OK. Be a reasonable person with yourself.”
Saldana previously commented on her androgynous behavior in 2006 to Siempre Mujer magazine during a period when she was involved in a decade-long relationship with "As the World Turns" soap star Keith Britton.
“People have told my grandmother, ‘Your niece has a bit of lesbianism in her.’ It’s that my sisters and I spent all our time among men. We were very popular with them. Our way of thinking is very masculine,” said Saldana, claiming getting manicures and wearing dresses made her want to “die.”
The actress also opened up to Allure about her January breakup with Cooper, claiming she is no longer interested in dating fellow celebrities and saying, “Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.”
While Saldana is gaining attention for her sexuality admission, Allure magazine is under fire after BuzzFeed posted a report Tuesday questioning the magazine’s decision to post the leading ladies weight on the cover, referring to the star as “115 Pounds of Grit And Heartache.”
