Zooey Deschanel And Jonathan Scott Say Quarantine Made Them Closer: 'It Is Amazing'
Quarantine may have been truly difficult for some but not for stars Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott. It actually helped them have a stronger bond, the couple revealed in an exclusive interview with People.
The "New Girl" actress said she "loved" being at home during the quarantine period in early 2020 and that it was "fun" to spend time with Scott and her two kids, Elsie and Charlie.
"When COVID first started I was like, 'OK, we have trampoline time and movie time,'" the 41-year-old actress told People at the Environmental Media Association Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Scott said quarantine allowed him to discover his girlfriend's "amazing" kitchen skills. He raved about Deschanel's risotto cake, saying it was worth "to die for."
"Look at it this way, I'm stuck with someone who I'm madly in love with who's an amazing chef," the 43-year-old "Property Brothers" star said. "I don't know where this has been my whole life but it is amazing."
The pair began dating in late 2019 after meeting on the set of "Carpool Karaoke: The Series." They celebrated the second anniversary of their romance in August by sharing a sweet selfie.
"2 years and still my favorite," Deschanel captioned her post.
Scott told People that his girlfriend makes him feel special in every way.
"I discovered having been in other relationships in the past, this was the very first time I noticed that all of the love and effort and the things I was doing were being reciprocated and I was like 'what?' So I think I'll hold onto this one," he told the outlet.
The reality TV star said Deschanel's sincere ways easily endeared her to his family members.
"When we first started dating and the first time she met my parents via Zoom, she found out what my dad's favorite song was, which is 'Danny Boy' because my dad is Scottish," Scott told People. "And she sang it on Zoom and I could see the tears welling up in my dad's eyes and I knew she was in."
