  • More proofs seemingly hint that "GTA 6" is in the works and could arrive soon

Rockstar Games is currently enjoying the unprecedented success of “GTA 5” and “Red Dead Redemption 2.” Despite the overwhelming leaks and rumors surrounding the much-awaited sequel “GTA 6,” the game developer has not yet confirmed if the game is indeed in the works. But, we gathered the most recent leaks and rumors online, backing the claim that “GTA 6” is in development.

GTA 6” Job Listing

A newly spotted job listing triggered speculations among “GTA 6” fans that Rockstar Games could be indeed working on the sequel of “GTA 5.” The job listing is for the position of a Technical Build Engineer at Rockstar office in Scotland. The post does not explicitly reveal a lot of details, but it mentions that the job is for ‘large-scale’ Rockstar projects. For fans, this could be an indirect reference that Rockstar is working on “GTA 6.”

Trademark Application

Another exciting set of hints that could support claims that “GTA6” is in development is the trademark application filed by Take-Two Interactive. The company filed the applications for Los Santos and San Andreas. These are fictional locations in the “GTA 5” based on the city of Los Angeles.

It is a major city located in the southern part of San Andreas in “GTA 5” and “GTA Online.” Based on earlier leaks, the “GTA 6” would not be solely based on one location, but on various locations including Vice City, Liberty City, and Los Santos. The latest trademark filing could mean that Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games are considering including Los Santos and San Andreas in “GTA 6.”

Release Window

Aside from the locations, there are several claims about the release window of “GTA 6.” With the imminent launch of next-generation gaming consoles, some fans believe that the much-awaited game might arrive in the latter part of this year, and could be the launch title for PS5 or Xbox Series X. But, a recent job listing for game testers posted by Rockstar Games triggered speculations that the “GTA 6” is the game subject for both alpha and beta tests.

At this point, these are all merely speculations. Companies like Take-Two and Rockstar have a habit of posting job openings and filing trademarks, but these do not guarantee that these are for “GTA 6.”
