  • Sony also revealed the most-played PSVR titles

PS Plus subscribers are in for a treat and it starts with six free games beginning November and possibly more surprises in the coming weeks.

The Japanese gaming giant usually offers three free games every month to PS Plus subscribers. Of the three free games, one is for its new-generation gaming console PS5 and the other two are for the PlayStation 4.

Interestingly, Sony suggested that users of its online subscription platform would get an additional three free games starting next month. The company said it is a special gesture to show its gratitude to PlayStation fans.

"Starting in November, PlayStation Plus* members will get three PS VR bonus games for no extra charge. Stay tuned for more details in the PlayStation Plus update in the next few weeks," Senior Director, PS VR, eSports, Peripherals Marketing and Licensing, SIE Isabelle Tomatis said in a blog post Wednesday.

Sony is celebrating "five years of PlayStation VR" and the additional free games to PS Plus subscribers is just one of the hopefully many surprises the company has prepared for its avid gamers.

"Today marks the fifth anniversary of the day PlayStation VR was introduced to the world, and we want to take this moment to thank all of our fans and our talented development community for embracing this platform and supporting PS VR through the years. It’s amazing to see how virtual reality has really established itself in these past five years as a platform for gaming, and we’re pleased to have PS VR play a big role in VR’s growth," the executive shared in the blog post.

PS Plus games, unlike other gaming subscription services, are owned by the subscribers forever. While the games are only accessible for active subscribers, they can keep the free PSVR games on their library as long as they are subscribed to the service.

In other words, even if they do not have a PSVR headset yet, they have the games for the gaming platform available and waiting. Aside from the three free games to PS Plus subscribers, PlayStation also revealed the most-played PSVR titles in the world, including "Rec Room, "Beat Saber," "PlayStation VR Worlds," "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR" and "Resident Evil 7 Biohazard."
