Supernatural
“Supernatural” Season 12 premieres on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW. The CW

“Supernatural” is never shy of teaming up unexpected characters. Last season, The CW series’ favorite pair of hunters joined forces with none other than God to take down Amara/The Darkness. In Season 12, another unlikely alliance will be formed with the sole purpose of taking down Lucifer.

“Supernatural” fans might recall how the fallen angel inhabited the body of angel Castiel/Cas (Misha Collins) because he thought Lucifer was their best chance of taking down Amara (Emily Swallow). As expected, God’s once-favorite son didn’t live up to expectations. It was Dean who finally reunited God and Amara and ended the battle for good.

Therefore, Cas isn’t exactly happy on letting Lucifer run free on Earth. Now inhabiting a new body (Rick Springfield), Lucifer is free to do what he pleases instead of being caged in hell. It’s understandable that the angel wants revenge.

Furthermore, another person wants revenge against Lucifer – king of hell Crowley (Mark Sheppard). The devil not only dethroned Rowena’s son, but also humiliated him. He wants to reclaim his throne. Hence, Cas and Crowley will join forces in defeating the fallen angel.

Collins confirmed the unlikely pairing by telling Entertainment Weekly, “Castiel and Crowley have kind of teamed up in season 12 and are working together.” Both Collins and Sheppard have promised “Supernatural” fans a 70s sitcom/’80s buddy cop comedy when their respective characters attempt to take down Lucifer in Season 12. Sounds exciting, no?

While Cas and Crowley join forces, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) will have to deal with the resurrection of their mother Mary (Samantha Smith). But before there is a Winchester family reunion, Dean must save his younger brother from the British Men of Letters who are determined to torture him.
