  • Evander Holyfield is confident of prevailing over Mike Tyson in a potential third fight
  • Holyfield sees a lucrative revenue despite being an exhibition bout
  • Tyson is favored to win over Holyfield in their rubber match

Negotiations for a potential Mike Tyson vs. Evander Holyfield trilogy have begun, and seeing the potential blockbuster match happen may be known soon.

No less than Holyfield revealed that both camps are now in ongoing discussions and “The Real Deal” is confident that it will rack in record revenue.

Holyfield sees good things ahead if the Tyson vs. Holyfield III is sealed. The 58-year-old believes the fight could generate as much as $200 million,

“I believe if I fought Mike the fight will generate $200 million. It will be the biggest fight there is. That's the honest truth. I think Mike has my message already. It's a decision he has to make now and we both have to be in an agreement,” Holyfield stated.

As mentioned in a previous post, Holyfield was the original opponent that Tyson should have faced in his League of Legend’s return fight. “The Baddest Man on the Planet” ended up facing Roy Jones Jr. instead, a fight that ended in a draw.

Though it was only an exhibition, Tyson showed that he still had power behind his punches. This could have further lit a fire in Holyfield, especially after finding out the reception and potential income that such a fight could make despite their prime age.

Having seen Tyson in action, Holyfield may have gotten an idea on how to potentially stop the former heavyweight champion.

He already has two wins against Tyson under his belt and winning a third and probably last fight could be fulfilling.

As far as his strategy is concerned, Holyfield is keeping all that to himself. For now, all he cares about is sealing the deal to fight Mike Tyson.

"I'm not going to tell anybody what I'm going to do–my strategy I'm planning on using against Mike–I don't want anyone to know. I'm happy if Mike fights me," Holyfield stated.

Holyfield is the favorite of sports junkies to face Tyson next (-150). Other names that oddsmakers feel would make sense include Lennox Lewis (+300), Riddick Bowe (+600) and Wladimir Klitschko (+1000).

As far as the Tyson vs. Holyfield clash itself, Tyson is a -325 favorite to win. Holyfield is a +250 underdog.
