A powerful blast in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar on Friday morning killed at least one person and injured 10 people, including 2 Americans, said media reports.

As per the reports, the blast took place on Abdarra road in the University Town area of the city at about 8.30 in the morning.

The US embassy said the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber on a motorbike. However, Pakistani police had earlier said it was a roadside bomb.

After Bin Laden's death, both Al-Qaeda and its Pakistani-Taliban allies have threatened to avenge. According to the Pakistani Taliban, the attacks would continue targeting diplomats from all Nato countries.

Since Osama bin Laden was killed by US forces, this was the first attack on US interests.
