10-Month-Old Boy Beaten To Death By Babysitter, Autopsy Shows Severe Abdominal Injury

An infant was beaten to death by his babysitter in Serdang, Malaysia, on Thursday.

According to local reports, the father of the 10-month-old infant had gone for work after dropping off the baby at his babysitter’s home. In the evening, the man received a call from his son’s babysitter stating that the infant was injured.

The father rushed to the babysitter’s home and found the boy lying unconscious. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead despite best efforts by the doctors to revive him.

"The baby was unconscious when he was brought in. They administered respiratory aid but failed to revive the infant," a police officer said, adding, "The babysitter is a Thai woman in her 30s who is married to a local. Both parents were working and have known the babysitter for some time."

An autopsy was conducted which revealed that the infant died from blunt face trauma. The report stated that the boy had suffered serious abdominal injury after being allegedly struck with a hard object.

A case of murder was filed. The baby’s father told the investigators that the victim was healthy when he dropped him off in the morning. Investigation into the case was ongoing and the babysitter was arrested.
