‘13 Reasons Why’ Season 2: Bryce’s Parents, Alex’s Mom To Be Introduced
“13 Reasons Why” Season 2 just cast four more actors to appear in multiple episodes of the hit Netflix series.
According to TV Line, Bryce’s (Justin Prentice) parents, Nora (Brenda Strong) and Barry (Jake Weber), will be introduced in the show. Barry is described as a successful hedge fund manager and a pillar of the community. He is very influential in their town so it is unclear whether or not he will try to protect his own son from his deeds in Season 1.

Bryce previously raped Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) and Jessica (Alisha Boe) during two separate occasions. Hannah was at a house party at that time, and Bryce took advantage of her when they were left behind by Bryce’s friends in the swimming pool. Jessica was raped by Bryce during another house party, and Jessica’s boyfriend, Justin (Brandon Flynn) was aware of what happened.
Other than Nora and Barry, Alex’s (Miles Heizer) mom (Meredith Monroe) will also be introduced. In Season 1, Alex mentioned his dad a few times, but his mom was never shown in the series. There are speculations that Alex might have taken his own life since he did not make any appearance in the final moments of the series. However, it’s also possible that Alex tried to take his own life, but was unsuccessful.
“The Carrie Diaries” alum RJ Brown has also been cast as Tony’s (Christian Navarro) boxing trainer. As of late, it is unclear whether or not the two male characters’ relationship will be strictly professional. Last season, Tony shared the truth about his sexuality to Clay (Dylan Minnette).
Earlier this week, Netflix also cast seven other actors for “13 Reasons Why” Season 2. According to Buzzfeed, Bryce Cast will play the role of Cyrus, an “edgy, cynical mischief maker who serves as an unexpected champion of the downtrodden.” Chelsea Alden will play the role of Cyrus’ sister, Mackenzie.
They will also be joined by a litigator named Sonya (Allison Miller), as well as a well-respected track star at Liberty High, Nina (Samantha Logan). A cheerleader named Chloe (Anne Winters) and a “beloved baseball coach” named Rick (Ben Lawson) will share plenty of screen time together.
“13 Reasons Why” Season 2 will stream on Netflix next year.
