A teenage boy has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting four girls in California, and police think there may be more victims.
The 13-year-old boy, who was only identified as a student at Cal Aero Preserve Academy, is accused of sexually assaulting two female classmates at the school in Chino, San Bernardino County, and two other girls at nearby apartment complexes, KTLA reported.
The suspect was arrested Thursday and booked into the San Bernardino County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of lewd and lascivious acts on a minor and oral copulation with a minor, the Chino Police Department said.
The suspect was arrested after two girls, aged 12 and 13, reported to Chino police that they had been sexually assaulted by the teenage boy.
The alleged assaults occurred on different days at two apartment complexes, both located at 16250 Homecoming Drive on the south side of Pine Avenue, officials said.
Two more female juvenile victims reported to police Friday that they had been sexually assaulted on the Cal Aero Preserve Academy campus.
The boy “became acquainted with his victims on the campus,” and the assaults occurred on separate occasions at the school, police said.
“…it’s a very sensitive topic,” Sgt. Jesus Jacquez of the Chino Police Department said, CBS Los Angeles reported. “I can tell you that it is our priority to get to the bottom of it and investigate the situation thoroughly.”
The Chino Valley School Unified School District issued a statement on the boy's arrest Saturday.
“The Cal Aero staff took immediate action contacting the Chino Police Department after becoming aware of the situation involving multiple students. Our focus right now is to preserve the safety and wellbeing of our youth while providing supports to our students and Cal Aero school community,” the statement read.
Authorities urge any other victims to contact the Chino Police Department. Anyone with information can contact Detective Matt Johnson at 909-334-3179 or mnjohnson@chinopd.org, or Sgt. Brian Pry at 909-334-3172 or bpry@chinopd.org.
