13-Year-Old Boy Kidnaps And Kills 8-Year-Old Friend To Take Revenge
An 8-year-old Indian boy was allegedly abducted and killed by his 13-year-old friend, who “wanted revenge” after a fight they had with each other, police said.
Family members of the 8-year-old boy last saw him playing outside before he went missing in Delhi. The boy’s mother informed the police Saturday night that her son was missing and said he was playing with another boy at around 3 p.m. before he disappeared, according to the Indian Express. Cops eventually found the victim’s body in a jungle area nearby after questioning the 13-year-old friend.
“Based on the mother’s statement, a case was registered under sections of kidnapping,” a police officer said. “We questioned the 13-year-old who revealed he had allegedly murdered the victim by assaulting him with a stone and also robbed his phone. He led us to the spot on Sunday where we recovered the body and phone.”
Police said the two boys had recently gotten into a fight, after which the teenager wanted to settle scores by assaulting the victim. The boy also told cops that he asked the victim for his phone but was furious when the 8-year-old refused to give it to him.
“We have also been told the two boys fought sometime back,” an officer said. “To take revenge, the boy called the victim to the jungle and allegedly hit him with a stone. We are questioning the boy and his family.”
The officer also noted that the victim’s mother recently lost some money along with other items. The 8-year-old boy blamed the teenager for his mother’s loss, and this triggered tension between them.
"The victim had allegedly blamed the accused of it, leading to a fight between them. So, he planned to take revenge," the officer said, according to NDTV.
After kidnapping the boy and assaulting him with a stone, the teenager escaped from the scene with the victim's phone. Police said the boy was booked for murder and sent to an observation home.
"We have apprehended the boy, and he along with his family members are being questioned further. Due counseling is being done," the officer added.
