Back in June 2017, Apple introduced the 2017 12-inch MacBook. Barely three months later, the device has now become part of the products the Cupertino giant is selling in its refurbished store. What makes the refurbished 2017 MacBook a great deal is the fact that it comes with Intel’s seventh-generation Kaby Lake processors and faster graphics options.

MacRumors was the first one to spot the availability of the 2017 MacBooks in Apple’s refurbished store. The publication shared that the refurbished computers come with Apple’s standard one-year warranty and this takes effect the moment the device is delivered to the customer. For those who wants a longer warranty period for their laptop, they can extend it to three years with AppleCare+ for Mac. Unfortunately, this costs $249 for the 12-inch MacBook.

Apple’s refurbished MacBooks are guaranteed to be in good shape. The company after all spends time thoroughly inspecting, cleaning, testing and repackaging the device. Even the manuals and cables of the computer have been thoroughly checked before they are included in the box. To show that each device has been subjected to a final quality assurance inspection, the refurbished MacBooks are given a new serial number.

The refurbished base model with the 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Core m3 Kaby Lake processor is available for $1,099. This means consumers will be saving $200 off of the regular price of the brand new device. This model features 8GB of RAM, 256GB flash storage and Intel HD Graphics 615. Interested consumers can choose from four available color options: Gold, Rose Gold, Space Gray and Silver.

On the other hand, Apple is selling the base model with the faster 1.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 Kaby Lake processor for $1,189, and this saves consumers $210 off of the regular price of the brand new device. This model also comes with 8GB of RAM, 256GB flash storage and Intel HD Graphics 615. There are only three available color options for this model, and they are Gold, Rose Gold and Space Gray. For consumers who want the 16GB RAM version, they should be willing to spend $1,269, which is $230 less than the regular price of $1,499.

Higher-end 2017 MacBooks are also available in Apple’s refurbished store. The one with the 1.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 Kaby Lake processor, 8GB of RAM, 512GB flash storage and Intel HD Graphics 615 is selling for $1,539, which is $240 less than the regular price. This model is available in four color options: Space Gray, Gold, Rose Gold and Silver. The 16GB variant of this configuration costs $1,529, which saves consumers $270 off of the $1,799 price tag of the brand new device.

Apple is also accepting requests for built-to-order configurations. Prices for the different configurations range from $1,099 to $1,659. The refurbished 2017 MacBooks are also available in Canada, but the prices for the different configurations offered there range from $1,459 to $2,069.

Unfortunately, Apple’s online store is currently down because the company is still busy setting up its online storefront for the opening of preorders for its newest products. Starting at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time or 3:01 a.m. Easter Time this Friday, Apple will be accepting preorders for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, the Apple TV 4K and the new Apple Watch Series 3. Preorders for the iPhone X are scheduled to open at a later date.
