Dwayne Wade bid farewell to the NBA at the end of the 2018-19 season after 16-years of which 13 were spent with the Miami Heat, the team that drafted him in 2003, the same class as LeBron James. He played his final game for Heat last season with most of his NBA friends on the sidelines celebrating an illustrious career that yielded three NBA rings.

It has been just a few months since his last game on court and talks of a comeback are already making the rounds. Wade made no effort to quell the speculation when he admitted that he is training regularly in the event there is an opportunity to return to the NBA in the future.

“I’m done,” Wade told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson. “But my trainer is going to keep me in shape just in case something happen. I’m going to stay in shape because you never know. Never say never.”

The 37-year-old shooting guard has made Los Angeles his new home and is said to have trained with James during the offseason with many questioning if he could make a comeback with the Lakers. He even praised the Lakers roster and believes they have the players to make a deep run in the playoffs but admits that it is all about coming together as a team.

However, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, the only team Wade will make a comeback with is the Heat, with whom he spent most of his NBA career. He believes there is little chance of him making a comeback with the Lakers despite his family now settling in the state of California.

Moreover, Haynes is of the opinion that the only reason Wade could comeback is to help Heat make the playoffs or if they make the post-season. And going by the 13-time All-Star’s comments there is a very good chance of seeing him on court before the end of the 2019-20 season.

“Dwyane Wade looked good last year,” Haynes told Robinson of Scoop B Radio. “I’ll say this: I think if Miami is in contention, and I don’t know that can happen without Chris Paul, but if they are in contention, I can see a scenario where they can lure Dwyane Wade back. I think if he did come back, it’d be back in Miami. I think there’s a good chance he would come out of retirement at some point.”
