4 Burning Questions ‘The Fosters’ Needs To Answer Before It Ends
“The Fosters” Season 5 will be wrapping up in the summer with a three-night limited series finale event.
But after Freeform announced the cancellation of the series, the network also confirmed that they will be releasing a 13-episode spinoff centered on Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez).
As of late, there are still 10 episodes left from the second half of “The Fosters” Season 5, and here are four burning questions we want answered before the series wraps up.
1 Will Callie become an activist?
In the finale episode for the first half of “The Fosters” Season 5, Callie contemplated on whether or not she should become an activist. But Aaron (Elliot Fletcher) told her that he thinks that’s not who she is.
Will Callie become an activist or will she decide to focus on herself and her dreams for the future?
2 Will Callie, AJ and Ximena escape?
Callie, AJ (Tom Williamson) and Ximena (Lisseth Chavez) were trapped inside the church after their prom in the midseason finale episode. Will the trio be able to escape the sanctuary and will they be arrested afterwards?
3 Will Ximena be arrested by ICE?
Ximena was revealed to be an undocumented student that Callie tried to protect during the first half of Season 5. Will she be arrested by the ICE in the final 10 episodes of the series?
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Bradley Bredeweg said that it’s going to take some time before Ximena’s cover will be busted, but there’s a possibility that it will be.
4 Will ‘The Fosters’ continue to focus on immigration and transgender themes?
“The Fosters” executive producer Joanna Johnson acknowledged the fact that the series has never shied away from tackling important social issues. And as such, fans can expect to learn more about the immigration issues, as well as the struggles of the LGBTQ community in the country through the show.
“The Fosters” Season 5 will return to Freeform on Jan. 9 at 8 p.m. EST.
