‘The Fosters’ 5 Spoilers: Brandon, Callie To Reunite After Grace, Aaron Fight?

“The Fosters” recently aired its Season 5 summer finale episode, which saw Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Aaron (Elliot Fletcher) almost breaking up. Brandon (David Lambert) and Grace (Meg DeLacy) are also not in a good place after he found out that she is suffering from leukemia and needs immediate treatment.

In “Prom,” Aaron expressed his concern over Callie reuniting with her ex-boyfriend, AJ (Tom Williamson). This made Callie angry because she clearly doesn’t want to have anything to do with him anymore. But in the final moments of episode 9, Callie was forced to get into a car with AJ while Aaron looked on.

While speaking with TV Line, “The Fosters” executive producer Joanna Johnson said that Callie is very serious about Aaron. “Though she has history with AJ, history is sometimes best left in the past. But we’ll see,” she added.

As of late, it is still unclear whether or not Callie and AJ’s reunion will force them to revisit their past.

Meanwhile, a devastated Brandon learned that he will have to be separated from Grace while she’s undergoing treatment. “She’s supposed to be going home and Brandon certainly isn’t going to move up to Marin to be there with her. But something may come up that would stall her departure and give Brandon and Grace some more time together. They have a genuine love that’s budding,” Johnson explained.

But with Callie and Aaron’s relationship going down the drain and Brandon and Grace struggling to keep their physical connection intact, there’s a possibility that Callie and Brandon will once again rely on each other for comfort. The adoptive siblings have been linked romantically in the past and were in an on-again, off-again type of relationship.

However, their parents, Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum), have talked them out of their romantic relationship since they are foster siblings. In Season 4, Callie and Brandon finally agreed to just maintain and brother-sister type of bond.

Elsewhere in the summer finale episode, Mariana’s (Cierra Ramirez) stalker ex-boyfriend, Nick (Louis Hunter), has returned.

“The Fosters” Season 5 will return to Freeform next year.
