4 Meghan Markle-Inspired Looks In Hallmark’s ‘A Winter Princess’ Movie
Hallmark Channel’s most recent royal romance, “A Winter Princess,” got some fashion inspiration from real-life royal Meghan Markle.
The former actress used to star in Hallmark movies, like “A Dater’s Handbook,” and now she’s married to Prince Harry and retired from the industry. Still, that didn’t stop her from showing up in the network’s new Winterfest movie. A photo of Markle appeared when one of the characters was doing an online search for a princess, and she was one of the search results.
That wasn’t the only influence she had on the contents of the movie, though. Natalie Hall played Princess Carlotta in the film, and she wore a few clothing items that likely reminded viewers of Markle’s own closet.
For starters, since this was a royal movie, Princess Carlotta wore a tiara at the end of the flick, and it was very reminiscent of when Markle wore one for her wedding. She might be the Duchess of Sussex and not officially a princess, but Markle sure looked like one.
Earlier in that same scene, Carlotta had on a white cape, essentially telling us that all the cool royals wear them because Markle, too, went for the cape look just a few months ago for the State dinner in Fiji. She had on a royal blue cape dress and drop earrings, which the princess in the film also had on.
It’s not just the fancy looks that “A Winter Princess” copied from Prince Harry’s wife. They also were inspired by her winter fashion. The pregnant royal stayed warm in a bright red coat last month, while the fictional princess opted for a jacket version of the same look.
Not only did the Hallmark movie incorporate some of Markle’s more recent styles, but it also included one of her favorite pieces from over the years: the beanie. She’s worn them in almost every color and shade, including a version of the white one Princess Carlotta.
Here’s hoping Hallmark continues to take inspiration from Markle’s fashion looks for future movies because she has quite the royal style.
