A 4-year-old boy miraculously survived a 70 feet fall into a gorge while hiking with his parents near the Princess Arch section of the Red River Gorge in Kentucky.

Authorities said the incident took place Friday in the Daniel Boone National Forest, New York Post reported. “Just after 2:00 p.m. today, WCSART deployed on a mission that would result in nothing short of a miracle,” wrote the Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team (WCSART) on Facebook.

The child, who has not been identified, slipped away from his folks and “took a tumbling fall off of a cliff,” the post read.

The boy reportedly plummeted a total of 70 feet and hit multiple ledges on his way down. The child's father immediately went down the cliff to find his son. He then picked up the boy, and carried him downhill, and across a suspension bridge.

Miraculously, the child survived the freaky fall with minor bruises, the Facebook post read.

The child was taken to a hospital for evaluation, and was said to be fine by the doctors, Drew Stevens, spokesperson for Wolfe County Search and Rescue said.

"He was very talkative, and very interested in super heroes. The only super hero present was him. After examination by Breathitt-Wolfe EMS INC., the boy was released to the care of his very relieved parents," the post read.

"A miracle for sure and a good reminder to those hiking with children that it only takes a moment," one user commented on the Facebook post.

The sandstone arches and towering cliffs of the region attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, The Associated Press reported.

Earlier this month, a man who allegedly jumped from the open window of a nine-story building in New Jersey miraculously survived. The man made it alive even after crashing through the roof of a BMW parked outside. The 31-year-old man was taken to a hospital in an ambulance and was in critical condition. The man reportedly stood up with his right arm dangling at his side after plunging around 100 feet and crashing through the roof of a black BMW 330i.
