Other than the game itself, the biggest aspect of Super Bowl Sunday is usually the commercials. While the 2017 Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons turned out to be one of the most exciting in history, the ads were arguably the best part of an uneventful first half.

With a 30-second spot during the Super Bowl costing $5 million, advertisers spared no expense in trying to make their commercials stand out. A few of the NFL’s best players, as well as top Hollywood stars, made appearances in between plays of the four-hour football game.

Some commercials missed the mark, but others were genuinely funny. Here’s a look at the night’s five funniest ads:

Bai

Christopher Walken can make just about any dialogue entertaining, including lyrics to hit songs from 17 years ago. Sitting on a couch next to a silent Justin Timberlake, all the legendary actor had to do was say a few words from ‘N Sync’s “Bye Bye Bye” to create one of the night’s funniest commercials.

Kia

Cam Newton appeared in a funny commercial for Buick early on in the game, but Melissa McCarthy helped Kia have the best car ad of the night. Less than 24 hours after appearing on “Saturday Night Live,” the actress was arguably even funnier in the commercial, using the car to save the environment.

Avocados From Mexico

Unlike some of the other commercials on this list, this 30-second spot didn’t need any star power to make it one of the night’s funniest. Jokes about faking the moon landing and there only being “49 shades of grey” landed perfectly, and a quick cameo from Jon Lovitz helped make this ad one of the Super Bowl’s best.

Squarespace

Few things were funnier Sunday than watching John Malkovich try to secure his own website. The ad shows the actor’s attempt to get JohnMalkovich.com, sending an angry email to the current owner and even threatening to show up at his house.

Shields Health Care

Arguably the best commercial of the night wasn’t seen by most of the country and aired after the game ended. Shields Health Care Group has been running a local ad in New England this season, but an updated version ran following the Patriots’ victory. Brady flashes a fifth Super Bowl ring, and he takes a not-so-subtle jab at NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who is so hated in New England because of Deflategate that he was booed mercilessly during Sunday’s trophy presentation.
