5 Reasons Meghan Markle Is The Next Princess Diana, Not Kate Middleton
Meghan Markle could be the next Princess Diana and not Kate Middleton.
Even before the Duchess of Sussex joined the royal family officially, many are already convinced that she would follow the footsteps of her mother-in-law. Some are rooting for Kate Middleton, but Mirror presented five reasons why Prince Harry's wife is the next People's Princess and not the Duchess of Cambridge.
Sweet and caring gestures
During Prince Harry and Markle's trip in New Zealand, she reportedly asked a staff to bring out trays of cakes that they hadn't eaten to the youngsters on the streets. Just like Markle, Princess Diana was popular in her warmth to the people around. She was even seen strolling one night and speaking to rough sleepers in sweet gestures.
Comforting children
Markle was photographed comforting a little boy who was rubbing his eye. The expectant royal kneeled and touched the boy's hand. The photo was compared to the Princess of Wales' photos where she was seen holding and comforting young children.
Interest in youngsters
Following the palace's announcement that Prince Harry and Markle are expecting, the former "Suits" star has been seen showing off her maternal instincts with her keen interests to children.
However, some criticized Markle for always cuddling her baby bump. Royal fans and critics advised her to give her tummy a break because they already know that she's pregnant.
On the other hand, Princess Diana did the same. In fact, she was photographed in different events having a great time with kids.
Treasured Gifts
Both Princess Diana and Markle have received treasured gifts from their royal fans. Just recently, the Duchess of Sussex was handed with a handmade piece of jewelry crafted from pieces of pasta painted with gold and threaded onto some dark blue ribbon. Markle didn't disappoint the youngster who gave it to her by wearing it immediately.
Care-free
Just like Princess Diana, Markle had the same care-free attitude as Princess Diana. In fact, event veteran royal photographer Mark Stewart remembered the late Princess of Wales when he captured a photo of Markle.
"I remember photographing Diana in Japan, when she stepped out in a red and white spotted outfit. Meghan’s wardrobe choices on this tour really remind me of Diana's, like the red dress she wore when she arrived in Tonga," Stewart told Vanity Fair.
"It was pure Diana, honouring the national colours of the island before Meghan had even said a word," he added. "I don’t think we’ve seen a royal like Diana until now."
