62-Year-Old Man Dies After Teen Attacks Him Over A False Sexual Assault Claim His Sister Made
A lie about sexual assault has led to the death of a 62-year man in Utah.
Michael Fife died on April 27 after being attacked by a 17-year-old who had been told by his 16-year-old sister that Fife assaulted her while they were passengers aboard a Cache Valley Transit District bus on April 23 around 3 p.m., according to the Logan Police Department. She called him while on the bus, and the brother immediately went looking for Fife, meeting him when he got off of the vehicle.

The teenager assaulted the unsuspecting Fefe who fell and suffered head injuries when he hit the sidewalk. The 17-year-old fled the scene, reports KSL. Someone called 911 and the 62-year-old was rushed to the McKay-Dee Hospital.
"His injuries were so bad that he was transferred to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT where they performed emergency surgery on his skull to relieve the swelling of his brain," said Brandie Callahan, the organizer of a GoFundMe campaign to cover the funeral expenses.
Detectives who reviewed surveillance footage of the alleged sexual assault said: "the video showed Mr. Fife walking past the girl, but no sexual assault occurred." The case is still under investigation and it is unclear whether the brother will be charged.
