Even celebrities can have trouble keeping romance alive, and Summer 2017 has been a season that has proven it with a number of celebrities calling it quits on their relationships.
Relationships take a lot of work, and sometimes, even the celebrity couples whose relationships are admired have to admit they can't always get things to last and work out how they want to. And when they announce the splits that happen because of it to the world, it truly devastates their fans, In Summer 2017, there were definitely a few big splits, with some being more shocking and devastating than others. Still, they were all definitely notable. Here are the seven biggest splits that occurred this summer:
Hayley Williams and Chad Gilbert:
The Paramore frontwoman, 28, and New Found Glory musician, 36, announced in July via joint Instagram posts that they were splitting up after 17 months of marriage and eight years prior to that of dating. In their announcement, the two said "Marriage is not for the faint of heart. Love is an absolute risk. And it's up to each of us to stay hopeful even when the outcome isn't what we'd originally hoped for."
Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio and Aubrey O'Day:
After the "Jersey Shore" star turned DJ and former Danity Kane singer met while filming "Famously Single," they had a tumultuous on/off relationship. An official split was confirmed in July.
Chris Pratt and Anna Faris:
Fans pretty much began to feel as if love was officially dead after Pratt and Faris announced earlier this month that they were splitting after eight years of marriage. The two, who share son Jack together, shared the news on social media, saying. "We tried hard for a long time, and we're really disappointed... We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another."
Luann de Lesseps and Tom D'Agostino :
Despite previously denying there were problems in her marriage, the "Real Housewives of New York" star took to Twitter this month to announce that she and her husband were splitting up after only seven months of marriage. Split rumors had swirled the couple for a while, especially after storylines on "RHONY" saw Luann's co-stars telling her about rumors Tom had been unfaithful.
Dominic Sherwood and Sarah Hyland:
The "Modern Family" star and "Shadowhunters" actor confirmed they had called it quits after two years of dating in August. "They aren't dating anymore but they both have mutual respect for one another and remain friends," a source said of their split.
Elon Musk and Amber Heard:
The actress, who famously divorced Johnny Depp in 2016 and claimed abuse while doing so, Heard seemed to find some love again after she started dating the tech mogul last summer. However, they called it quits with one another this August, though Musk later swore they were "still friends" and "remain close," and said that their long-distance commitments were to blame for the relationship running its course for now.
Aaron Carter and Madison Parker:
After being arrested together for drug possession in July, Aaron Carter and his girlfriend split in August. Just days after the split, Carter revealed in a statement that he is bisexual, which prompted rumors that it was the cause of the break-up.
