8-Year-Old California Girl Dies After Mother's Boyfriend Violently Beats Her For Not Doing Homework
A man in Bakersfield, California, was charged Wednesday for beating his girlfriend’s eight-year-old daughter to death.
According to the court documents, the man, identified as 37-year-old Clint Mason, confessed to assaulting the girl on March 18. He told the investigators that he was angry that the girl, identified as Ger’Mya Amirah Alexander, didn’t complete her homework. In a fit of rage, he beat her several times with a metal cane and a belt before locking her in her bedroom.
A few hours later, he found the girl lying unresponsive. He then notified his girlfriend and fled to Los Angeles. He was taken into custody from a hotel in Los Angeles the following day. Court documents revealed that the girl was “covered from head to toe” with injuries.
The accused was charged with murder, torture and willful cruelty to a child. He was being held in jail without bail was scheduled to be arraigned on March 30.
