9-Month-Old Baby Boy Killed After Balcony Comes Crashing Down On Him

A 9-month-old baby boy died Saturday after a house's balcony collapsed on him.
The tragic incident took place in the Nathpura area of the Indian capital New Delhi. The baby, identified as Naksh, was with his mother as she was headed for a chemist's shop along with his 10-year-old sister when the balcony came crashing down, according to the Times of India.
Deputies from the Swaroop Nagar Police Station were alerted about the child and his mother being trapped under the pile of debris. When police reached the spot, they found the mother, baby and 10-year-old girl under the debris, Republic World reported.
The baby boy was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead, according to the outlet. Naksh's mother, identified as Achal, 20, suffered severe injuries but was stable. Naksh's elder sister was conscious at the time of being treated and she was said to have suffered minor injuries.
A case has been registered against the owner of the house under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The allegations leveled against the property's owner include death by negligence and causing hurt by endangering the life or personal safety of others.
The landlord, identified as Ranbir Singh Rana, a resident of Nangali Poorna Village, was arrested on Sunday, according to PTI.
In February, a 7-year-old child in eastern Switzerland died after a self-made igloo collapsed on him. The incident took place in Tarasp, Graubünden. The child and his father were found buried under snow after the igloo collapsed. His father managed to free himself and yelled for help. The boy was spotted by his father and another person after 15 minutes of search. Both the father and paramedics failed to resuscitate the child and he was airlifted to a hospital. The boy died at the hospital despite the best efforts to save him.
