Although “90 Day Fiancé” stars Ashley Martson and Jay Smith have split, the former TLC couple is still married. The Pennsylvania resident thought she severed all ties with her ex, but Jay shared a post on Instagram that made fans question the status of their relationship.

Shortly after their wedding, Ashley discovered Jay downloaded a dating app. Despite her feelings of betrayal, Ashley decided to give their marriage another chance. However, after she learned he cheated on her with several women, she eventually ended their marriage for good and filed for divorce.

Unfortunately for Ashley, she is still legally married to Jay. During an Instagram Q&A session on Friday, fans questioned her about a post Jay shared. On his Instagram Story, he told fans he and Ashley were still married.

When fans asked Ashley if she was still married to Jay, the “90 Day Fiancé” star appeared to blame her ex for delaying the process. “Yes, technically I am because the paper was dated wrong so, if we could just resign real quick with the right date then we wouldn’t be married. Let’s get on that,” she said in a video on her Instagram Story.

“Let’s do that and not post on the gram,” she wrote across her video post.

Ashley’s response to her divorce comes after she shared a somber post about feeling trapped. “I feel like I’m at a traveling circus, on a carousel trapped by an evil clown, and I can’t get off no matter how hard I try to,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.

Although Ashley and Jay’s love story is over, fans can watch new couples trying to start a life with their foreign loves on Season 7 of the series.

“90 Day Fiancé” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
