'Abandoned' Reportedly The New 'Silent Hill' Launching To PC Soon

The E3 2021 ended without any announcements related to "Silent Hill" but it seems like fans of Hideo Kojima are at the center of conspiracy theories believing that the PS5 horror survival shooter game "Abandoned" is the new iteration of the classic horror franchise, which reportedly is also launching on PC soon.

Fans are convinced that "Abandoned" is actually a new "Silent Hill" title from the Japanese legendary video game designer, director, producer and writer Hideo Kojima. Whether this claim is true or not remains to be seen but it looks like Konami had recently added fuel to the flame with its tweets, which many fans took as a nod to the circulating rumor.

The Twitter account of the merch shop from Konami recently tweeted a "Silent Hill" image with the caption, "coming soon." In another tweet, the account tweeted, "Something wicked is rolling into our shop next week." While the tweets are about the official "Silent Hill" merchandise Konami is launching, it is the kind of announcement many "Silent Hill" fans believed is tied to a game reveal.

So far, there is no substantial information to back speculations that Konami has a "Silent Hill" title to reveal soon or that the new franchise iteration is the game from Blue Box called "Abandoned." Apparently, the Konami merchandise was intentionally timed to capitalize on the wild conspiracy theories and speculations that circulate online.

Wild rumors claiming that "Abandoned" is the revival of "Silent Hill" stemmed from an announcement Blue Box Studios shared in April. In a tweet, the indie studio seemingly suggested that the game is coming also to PC, aside from Sony's PS5. The game's trailer, which was posted to the PlayStation channel, shows the game set in a spooky area with woods and signs that give an eerie feel.

The "Silent Hill" community, ever desperate to hear about a new title in the horror series, immediately convinced themselves that the game is a "Silent Hill" title. The list of conspiracy theories, including the one claiming that Blu Box is a fake studio run by Hideo Kojima, are all on Reddit. The official trailer of "Abandoned" is available below.

Blue Box Studios has previously emphasized that "Abandoned" is not "Silent Hill." In a tweet, the studio said, "We wanted to set things straight. We have no relations with Konami. Silent Hill is owned by Konami. We do not have any relations with Hideo Kojima. It was never our intention to tease the name Silent Hill. We sincerely apologize for this."
