Actress Midori Iwama, who goes by the screen name Midori Francis, took to Twitter on Wednesday to say that she was the victim of an Asian hate crime. Francis, who is of Japanese descent, explained the incident in a series of tweets.

"I tried calling the Los Angeles police," she tweeted. "They directed me to their non emergency number but I couldn’t get through. I didn’t see an option for hate crimes online. I’d like to report a hate incident somewhere. Can you help?"

"I’m a Asian woman. I was spat on directly by a passenger in a black car which slowed down and intentionally spat out the window at me," she added. "I was close enough to the car to know it was Intentional."

"It happened today around 2:37pm PST on the corner of Los Feliz BLVD and Fern Dell Drive. I was wearing a tie dye outfit," she explained. "I had one friend there with me. Was shocked and didn’t get plate number . If someone can help report to proper place. Thanks"

In her next tweets, she thanked everyone for receiving a quick solution. She shared two links to register complaints and noted, "thank you. Very quickly got solutions. Report to: https://standagainsthatred.org https://stopaapihate.org I’m on hold with #211. "Report these things !!" she concluded.

She later shared a screenshot of the website and tweeted, "was relieved and then sad to see there was a whole category for being spat on. #StopAsianHate." Since then, the "Dash and Lily" star has been actively sharing tweets related to Asian Hate.

Francis isn't alone when it comes to tweeting against Asian attacks. Lana Condor took to Twitter on March 17 to speak out about Asian hate crimes.

"Wake up... your Asian friends and family are deeply scared, horrified, sick to their stomachs and wildly angry. Please please please check in on us, please please please stand with us," she tweeted. "Please. Your Asian friend needs you, even if they aren’t publicly grieving on social media."
